PAINT CORRECTION SERVICES
Swirl Marks, Scratches, & Oxidation Removal
Restore your vehicle's paintwork to showroom condition with our professional paint correction services, brought directly to your location across the Scottish Highlands. Choose from two comprehensive packages: Enhancement Polish for light defect removal and gloss enhancement, or Single-Stage Correction for significant swirl mark and scratch removal. Both services use professional-grade Rupes machine polishers and premium compounds to safely restore clarity, depth, and gloss to your paint.
What is Paint Correction?
Paint correction is a meticulous machine polishing process that removes imperfections from your vehicle's clear coat—including swirl marks, light scratches, oxidation, and wash marring. Unlike waxing or sealants that temporarily fill defects, paint correction permanently removes a microscopic layer of clear coat to reveal fresh, flawless paint underneath. Our Enhancement Polish and Single-Stage Correction packages use professional Rupes DA polishers and premium compounds to safely correct your paint without compromising long-term clear coat health. Enhancement Polish targets light defects (20–40% correction) for newer or well-maintained vehicles, while Single-Stage Correction delivers dramatic transformation (50–70% correction) for heavily swirled or neglected paintwork. The result is mirror-like clarity, deep gloss, and vibrant colour that lasts—especially when paired with our Ceramic Coating services for long-term protection.
Paint correction reveals flawless paintwork, but without protection, it will deteriorate again. We strongly recommend pairing paint correction with our Ceramic Coating service to lock in the results and protect your investment for years. We're a mobile detailing service covering Aviemore, Carrbridge, Kingussie, Newtonmore, Dalwhinnie, and the wider Cairngorms National Park region. We bring professional paint correction directly to your location—whether that's your home, workplace, or holiday accommodation. All we need is a covered or sheltered area (garage, carport, or large canopy) to protect the vehicle during the process.

Enhancement Polish (4–6 hours) is our entry-level paint correction service. It gently removes light swirl marks, wash marring, and oxidation (20–40% correction), restoring gloss and clarity without aggressive cutting. Perfect for newer vehicles, well-maintained paint, or cars that just need their sparkle back.
Single-Stage Correction (6–10 hours) is for vehicles with moderate to heavy swirl marks, scratches, and defects. It delivers dramatic transformation (50–70% correction), removing years of damage to reveal mirror-like clarity and depth. Ideal for vehicles exposed to harsh Highland weather, automatic car washes, or poor washing techniques.

We don't cut corners to compete on price. Here's what you're paying for:
• Professional-grade equipment – Rupes DA polishers, paint depth gauges, and premium compounds (what luxury dealerships use, not consumer products).
• Meticulous process – Single-Stage Correction takes 6–10 hours, not 2 hours. We don't rush.
• Safe correction – We measure paint depth and work conservatively to protect long-term clear coat health.
• Full accountability – Public liability insurance, documented work, and we stand behind every job.
Cheaper detailers cut corners: consumer equipment, rushed jobs, no paint depth measurement. That might look good for a week, but it risks burning through your clear coat or leaving holograms and buffer trails.
You're not paying for a quick polish. You're investing in safe, permanent correction that lasts.
-
Honest answer: It depends on the depth of the defect.
Paint correction can only remove defects within the clear coat. If a scratch is too deep (into the base coat or primer), it cannot be fully removed without repainting.
Before we start, we'll assess your paint with a paint depth gauge and inspection light. We'll tell you honestly what's achievable and what's not. Our goal is safe, conservative correction that delivers maximum results without compromising your clear coat's long-term health.
Typically, we can remove or significantly reduce:
• Swirl marks and wash marring (50–70% with Single-Stage).
• Light scratches and oxidation.
• Water etching and bird dropping stains.
Deep scratches, stone chips, and primer-level damage require touch-up or repainting.
-
Yes—absolutely.
Ceramic coating locks in whatever condition your paint is in. If you apply it over swirl marks and scratches, you'll have glossy, protected swirl marks and scratches.
Paint correction removes those defects first, so when we apply ceramic coating, you're locking in flawless, mirror-like paint. The combination delivers the best possible results: perfect clarity, deep gloss, and years of protection.
We offer discounted ceramic coating when added to paint correction packages—it's the smartest way to protect your investment.
-
Paint correction requires dry, stable conditions and a covered workspace (garage, carport, or large canopy). We cannot work in heavy rain, high winds, or extreme cold, as moisture and temperature affect polishing compounds and curing times.
If conditions are unsafe or will compromise quality, we'll reschedule at no extra cost.
We've adapted our processes for Highland weather, but paint correction is more weather-sensitive than standard detailing. We'll monitor forecasts and communicate in advance if there are any concerns.
-
Absolutely. Paint correction delivers stunning results, but without proper maintenance, your paint will deteriorate again. That's why we offer Highland Care Plans designed to keep your car protected without you having to think about it:
• Essential Care (every 8 weeks) – Regular maintenance for vehicles you look after consistently
• Premium Care (every 4 weeks) – Comprehensive protection against Highland roads and weather
• Elite Care (every 2 weeks) – Ultimate care for vehicles you want kept in showroom condition
All plans include priority booking, exclusive discounts, and referral rewards. Members save 20–49% per year compared to one-off bookings, and your car stays protected year-round.
We also strongly recommend ceramic coating after paint correction to lock in the results and make maintenance easier.
